The first annual "Culture Shock" event in May 2011 (May 1st - May 22nd) aims to be a large and important event for the Secondlife fashion culture. Celebrating trends and trendsetters within our business, and incorperating music and art, all with reflections of our own personal first life cultures depicted in our creations.

184 Store spaces will be available for the showcasing of products, including a mandatory minimum of 3 new and exclusive items each - contributing 50 - 100% of their profit to charity.

We will have regular sets of music in the second and third week of the event and on the opening day of the event.

Médecins Sans Frontières (commonly referred to as  " Doctors Without Borders "  is an independent humanitarian medical aid organisation. We are committed to providing medical aid where it is most needed, regardless of race, religion, politics or gender and also to raising awareness of the plight of the people we help.

In countries where health structures are insufficient or even non-existant, MSF collaborates with authorities such as the Ministry of Health to provide assistance. MSF works in rehabilitation of hospitals and dispensaries, vaccination programmes and water and sanitation projects. MSF also works in remote health care centres, slum areas and provides training of local personnel. All this is done with the objective of rebuilding health structures to acceptable levels.

Your single donation of:
£44.67 could provide a course of PEP treatment to help ensure that a woman who has been raped does not contract HIV/AIDS.

£80.34 could cover the cost of three day's cholera treatment for a patient.

£134 would pay for a measles vaccination for 1500 children. Protecting them from a disease that kills over 190,000 children each year.

This charity goes into any and all countries who need medical assistance with real trained professional doctors from across the globe. They don't discriminate or judge, they just help, and thats why I believe them to be a perfect choice for this event.
